01 · Context

The problem

People looking for counselling are often anxious and unsure what to ask for. The centre also runs a Mahkama-e-Shariah, so the site had to explain two very different services, in three languages, and make the first step feel safe.

Approach

An Astro site on Cloudflare in English, Urdu (right to left) and Tamil: a 'Start here' booking card in the hero, a three-step request that ends in a call-back, custom illustrations instead of stock photos, and encrypted storage for everything people send.

Why we built it this way.

1. D-01

   Three languages, Urdu right to left

   Every page exists in English, Urdu and Tamil. Urdu flips the whole layout right to left and is set in Nastaliq; Tamil gets its own typeface.

2. D-02

   Booking starts in the hero

   The home page asks three things: what you need help with, how to meet and which language. Continue opens the booking form pre-filled, already at step 2.

3. D-03

   A call-back, not a calendar

   The request needs only a name and phone number: no payment, no account. The centre calls back to agree a time, the right counsellor and the language.

4. D-04

   Encrypted before it is stored

   Phone numbers, messages and session notes are encrypted at rest. Only the counsellor reads their notes, every access is logged, and the site sets no tracking cookies.

5. D-05

   Shariah matters go to scholars

   Darul Qadha, Nikah and Fatwa sit beside counselling. A second mufti verifies every fatwa before publication, and certificates carry a QR code anyone can check.
